The 16:10 aspect ratio monitor has a diagonal screen measurement of 21.6”, which equates to an active area of 477.42(mm) x 268.42(mm) and a resolution of 1366 x RGB x 768.  A white LED BLU delivers an impressive 1200 cd/m² brightness producing excellent sunlight viewability, this coupled with its high contrast ratio of 800:1, a 16.7M colour palette, a fast response time of 5ms and wide viewing angles of 170° on the horizontal and 160° on the vertical axis a superb optical performance is achieved in all lighting conditions.

The overall monitors dimensions are 510.6(mm) x 306.6(mm) x 55(mm), mounting within your bespoke housing can be effected either by a VESA 100mm mounting plate or via M3 tapped holes around the edge of the monitor’s metal casing/frame. The TFT screens OSD setup buttons are accessed from the rear so as not to foul any mounting brackets and to prevent un-welcome screen adjustments. Interfacing to the monitor is via a standard 15-Way analogue VGA connection (cable supplied) or there is the option of an additional DVI-D connection. The SUN-216A requires a 12VDC input, which is supplied via a 12VDC @ 5A power supply and has a typical power consumption of 50W.

The monitor also incorporates an auto dimming function by means of a light sensor, this allows the monitor to increase or decrease the LED backlight’s output depending on the ambient light conditions, which in today’s environmentally conscious market can help to make a difference to the monitors running costs.

They are extending their product range by adding a new wide format 8.5” TFT LCD with Super Wide Viewing Angle technology and a long life LED backlight.

Utilising the latest display technology, Kyocera’s new 8.5” LCD features WVGA (800 x RGB x 800) resolution, low power long-life LED backlighting with up to 70khrs of operating life and a viewing angle of 170° on both the horizontal and vertical axis. With Kyocera’s advanced technology within the TFT cell structure there is now no grey inversion aspect, colours remain the same whatever the angle the display is viewed from. We are pleased to announce the latest addition to our colour TFT LCD range, the Samsung LTN101AL03, 10.1″ WXGA TFT LCD panel plus its USB driver board (designed to replace the more common analogue driver board) offers extremely easy integration to your OEM application. Simply plug in the USB cable (supplied) into a USB port 2.0 on your host computer, load up the “Display Link” software drivers and you are done. The USB driver board includes the LCD panel’s LED backlight driver plus a simplified OSD menu allowing the user to turn the display on and off and adjust brightness. All power requirements are supplied through the USB board via the USB port so there is no need for any external power supplies. This 10.1″ LED backlit TFT panel is a wide screen 16:10 format and offers a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, 900:1 contrast ratio and a 400 cd/m² brightness. With symmetrical super wide viewing angles of 80° on all axis plus a colour palette of 16.2M colours the panel offers superb performance in a host of applications including electronic point of sale (EPOS), HMI instrumentation and digital signage to name but a few. Soon to be released by our partner Data Vision will be their 1000 cd/m² super high brightness, 5.7” QVGA TFT LCD with integrated Solomon Systech SSD1963 graphic LCD controller.  The SSD1963 contains an embedded SRAM which serves as a frame buffer between the host processor and the LCD panel, in this configuration the panel connects directly to an 8 bit i80 CPU interface. The controller also allows the screen image to be rotated through 90°, 180° and 270° and also supports a mirroring function.

The overall module size follows the now industry standard 144 x 104.6mm and has an active area of 115.2 x 86.4mm. The TFT panel is a fast response time TN technology type and has a 30 LED white backlight.  The module can also be supplied with Data Vision’s standard 4-Wire resistive Touch or their SR type 4-Wire resistive touch for use in outdoor applications where high ambient light and high reflectance can be an issue.

This new 5.7″ size becomes the 3rd panel in Data Visions range to use the Solomon Systech SSD1963 on-board graphic LCD controller, their 3.5″ and 4.3″ panels are now being successfully used in a host of applications within the industrial, medical, home appliance and mobile communications markets.

Our TFT LCD partner Data Vision have introduced four wide viewing angle displays to complement their existing range of high bright TFT LCDs.   The 2.4″ and 3.5″ QVGA displays, the  4.3″ WQVGA and the 7.0″ WVGA sizes all use the Multi-Domain Vertical Alignment (MVA) technology which produces extremely wide viewing angles of 80º on all axis (80/80/80/80). Using this MVA technology not only increases the panels viewing angles but also enhances the TFT’s contrast ratio and colour saturation providing superior optical clarity.

We are pleased to introduce our 43.0″ Super Wide View (Stretch) High Brightness TFT LCD Monitor, with its excellent display properties we are sure that this latest development in wide aspect (16:4) TFT LCD will find a host of applications that will take advantage of its size and specification.   

The monitor offers a resolution of 1920 x 480 pixels with a colour pallet of 16.7M colours, a high brightness, high efficiency CCFL produces an impressive 700cd/m² which combined with its 4000:1 contrast ratio excellent optical performance is achieved in all light conditions including direct sunlight.  With super wide viewing angles of 165º left to right and 165º top to bottom the monitor can be orientated in both the landscape and portrait positions without suffering from image colour change due to viewing angle limitations

To compliment their TAIKOH LED system, our partner First System of Japan have released their new TYGA LED illumination system. Using the same chip LEDs as per their TAIKOH modules but utilising a different enhancement lens the TYGA system is perfectly suited for dual sided signage and architectural lighting.

The TYGA module consists of 6 LEDs each encapsulated in an individual Akryl-Lightfast light enhancement lens mounted onto a PCB which is secured to an easily mountable  lightweight aluminium carrier/heatsink making a total module size a  very compact 298mm (L) x 37.5mm (W) x 13.9mm (H).  Up to 5 TYGA modules (30 LEDs) can be daisy chained together via their attached input and output cables creating a total length of nearly 1.5M.

The light angle from each encapsulated LED is a 14° cone from the top and a 140° cone from either side of the LED with each LED emitting 100lm of cool white (6500K) light making total luminance of 600lm per TYGA module. With a forward voltage of 3.1VDC per LED and a power total consumption of only 7.2W (constant current of 350mA) plus a long lifetime of in excess of 40khrs the TYGA module firmly secures its green credentials with a lower carbon footprint to that of tradtional FL tubes and many cluster LED lamp assemblies.

We are pleased to introduce the latest TFT LCD panel release from our partner Kyocera. Their new 7.0″ WVGA high brightness low power TFT LCD panel combined with Kyocera’s own glass/glass 4-Wire Resistive Inner Touch Panel Technology is sure to create a lot of interest within the display industry.

The panel offers a high resolution of 800×480 pixels (WVGA) and has a 70khr long life LED backlight producing a high brightness 560cd/m². The addition of Kyocera’s own glass/glass inner touch panel which also includes the TFT LCD’s polariser on the touch’s flexible front glass reduces the amount of reflections within the panels construction and produces an extraordinaryly clear display. With the panels wide operating temperature range of -20 to +70ºC and an industry standard 18-Bit RGB interface a host of applications both indoor and out can be realised.

New from Japan comes the TAIKOH LED lamp system/module, primarily designed for use in flex-face sign/light box applications however all types of applications requiring high brightness, low power, low profile,  flexible mount illumination can benefit from the TAIKOH System. Each module/lamp uses a super high luminance chip LED encapsulated within a clear acrlyic lens which distributes the light output evenly over a 160° angle and is certified to the environmental protection rating of IP66 which offers superb protection from dust, dirt and water.

Each lamp has a forward voltage requirement of 3VDC approx. and consumes approx. 1.2W of power, when driven at 350mA the luminance is 100lm however if driven at the lamp’s maximum of 700mA a luminance of 180lm can be achieved making even the lowest output suitable for all types of signage day or night. With TAIKOH’s 160°angle of  illumination, we can see that when utilized in a traditional 600mm x 600mm light box it is only necessary to use 16 TAIKOH modules (16 chips) giving a total luminace of 1600 lumens @ 350mA and consuming 19.2W of power. When comparing this to other suppliers of LED systems who typically cluster their LEDs into groups of three and do not have the TAIKOH lens system many more LEDs are needed to offer a similar luminance. Typically you would need something in the region of 187 modules (561 chips) which whilst offers a fraction more luminance at 1870 lumens the total power consumption increases over double to nearly 45W. In todays greener times can figures like these be ignored.
