In Kyocera transflective displays the reflective/transmissive ratio can be tailored to exactly meet OEM needs.  Transflective colour displays reflect ambient light during the day, while at night the CCFL backlight shines through producing readable and attractive colour.  Through the use of the sun and power efficient drivers, Kyocera transflective STN displays have become the choice for today’s low power applications.

Currently, the 5.7” (14cm) diagonal, QVGA size is the de facto standard for a large majority of industrial applications.  Kyocera have studied this area and have listened to the problems facing today’s product designers and engineers.  The 5.7” V-Series range offers designers a solution we hope, to all their problems.  We can offer Monochrome STN, Colour STN, Colour TFT with both CCFL and LED backlighting plus now a full VGA again with both CCFL or LED backlighting, all with the same mounting footprint and symmetrical bezel design.  This gives designers and engineers an obvious advantage when planning a product range or possible future upgrades, the ability to use existing casings and mounting hardware can drastically reduce costs and time to market. No other LCD manufacturer/supplier currently offers this range of products.

Hi-Brightness TFT LCD

Craft Data have been working with their partner GTT of Korea since their establishment in 1994.  GTT produce a small-dedicated range of hi-end TFT LCD with the focus on hi-brightness and hi-contrast.  They take the base panel from CMO and either passively enhance the display with light optimising filters to produce extra light transmission from the standard CCFL lamp or if super hi-brightness is required (up to 2000nits) actively enhance the panel with a combination of filters and GTT’s own CCFL backlight unit and inverter to produce direct sunlight viewing LCD’s. 

As well as producing daylight/sunlight readable TFT LCD many of the panels in the range have a very wide operating temperature which makes them suitable for outdoor kiosk type environments as well as industrial and military projects.
